my first royalty cheque that came through taxi

Post by gitarrero » Tue Sep 11, 2007 12:18 am

hi folks,I'm a member at taxi since one year and today I got my first royalty cheque notice for a placement that came directly through taxi.it's not that much (a couple of hundreds) but to be honest I didn't expect a deal within the first two years, not to speak of royalties!so: taxi works, if you've got the right tracks and work on basis of the 4 P's! cheers, martin

wow, it does work?ok, that settles it. I am going to sell a music work of mine to a taxi listing. guess I better take this thing serious, or it's just money down the internet.thanks for the encouragement, I will keep you posted on my success.I had a song forwarded, (Contemporary Christian) “SWING LOW, SWEET CHARIOT” - Jaxsnmix, but have not heard anything. it's been about a week.then another song I submitted to an electronic listing was returned.(Electronica) "let me see them bounce baby" Both can be heard here:http://www.taxi.com/jaxsnbut you just made me think, I can't give up.thanks.I guess the best of all is, Taxi keeps my talent moving.it's time to write and submit a "song" for real royalties.thanks and Congratulations you deserve it

Quote:the royalty is for a CD sampler - CD sels. the mechanical royalty (bmi/ascap) will come too, in 2 years or so... Just to keep the terminology straight: The royalties you received for CD sales ARE "mechanical royalties". ASCAP/BMI (/SUISA ) are called "(public) performance royalties".Mechanical Royalties = physical media (CDs/DVDs etc) are being soldPerformance Royalties = a piece of music is "performed" (either broadcast on radio or tv or played in a movie theater [outside the US] or performed live in concert)
