A Halloween Surprise!

Post by billg » Tue Oct 23, 2007 9:48 am

Got the call today & signed & sent in the contract so I guess it's official. Just got my song Midnight Train placed into an indie horror flick. This was through a Taxi dispatch listing. Here's the listing; YAHOO!D070911PBEdgy PSYCHOBILLY SONGS (with vocals) a la the Cramps, Tiger Army, Mojo Nixon, the Reverend Horton Heat, Southern Culture On The Skids, etc. are needed by the President of a Los Angeles-based Publishing Company for an Indie Horror Film about a group of college kids who get trapped inside a bowling alley. It stars a famous comic actor and is right now set for the festival circuit. That said, the film’s producers are already seeking international distribution. Musically, keep in mind that he’s NOT looking for old school Rockabilly a la Eddie Cochran - he definitely needs Punk-influenced Psychobilly like the bands mentioned above. Great performances are a must, of course. The publisher will screen the submissions for this listing himself and he offers various levels of publishing deals (exclusive w/ reversion clause, non-exclusive, co-publishing, etc.) depending on the song and the project.

Really, this forum has such a collection of talented and patient musicians. If anyone doubts the whole Taxi thing, with deals showing up here at least once a week, then you couldn't prove to them that the sky is blue... so why try? Congratulations BillG! Dave

Thanks for the link, Steve.wooHOO! Bill, that sounds perfect for the listing. Not all that familiar with "psycho-billy" but that kicks from beginning to end. Congrats again on the deal, and many more.Ted
