Paranormal signing

Post by crs7string » Mon Oct 10, 2011 2:24 pm

I just mailed the contract back to the publisher to sign seven paranormal tracks.

This is a new relationship and the relationship started with an introduction from a fellow TAXI member to the publisher.

In reverse order the ways to establish a new relationship:

3. Cold call ( hit or miss)
2. TAXI forward ( a favorable introduction)
1. a referral from a composer already doing business with the publisher (possibly instant credibility)

This is a relationship that would not have been established without TAXI. Thru TAXI and the Rally we became friends, developed a trust relationship and now we both have a relationship with the publisher.

The only downside, I'll probably need to make sure my friend's glass is full of very old Scotch at the Rally in a few weeks. :D

Congrats, Chuck!

I just signed a bunch of tracks with this particular Taxi client. It all started with ONE track forward and deal which built the relationship.

Taxi forwards can be the gift that keeps on giving. And introductions, based on building good relationships with your peers are so important! Another big plus for attending road rallies!

Best of luck, Chuck!

:) Casey

Amen Bob! Anyone who wants to learn how to network in a natural and genuine way should spend some time with Chuck at the Rally. And don't forget to buy him a drink! I know I owe him a round or two for things I've picked up from him over the last few years.

Congrats again Chuck! Hope these paranormal signings turn into 'normal sightings' on your royalty statements!
