Rally withdrawl

Post by DelphiaBlize » Sat Nov 12, 2011 8:44 pm

I'm trying to figure out why all of life can't consist of a giant musician's camp with all-night jams at the bar, open-mics with hosts in bathrobes, and "school days" full of classes that you actually WANT to go to more than anything else in the world....but so it goes, back to reality! I will be on this forum for sure but If any of you are on facebook, please also look me up there -- Delphia Blize (I think I'm the only one) and send a request....I want to see as many of your faces in my newstream as possible and hear what you're up to! Here's to your dreams, and seeing you at the next rally! :)

Move to Nashville! Open mics everywhere! Music almost 24-7 somewhere! Music folks all around you. Very inspiring. And it's not all country. Jazz Rock and Indie stuff! I can now collect a ck from the Chamber of Commerce. Kidding. We love this town.

Yea, I didn't find a ton of folks named "Delphia Blize" on FB... ;)

I've been going after my dreams for 11 years now and yes, they can come true. If you asked me back then if I ever thought I'd write something and hear it on TV, I'd have laughed.

Never give up on your dreams...

See ya around here and on FB,
:D Casey

it would be definitely worth a visit! anywhere is better than here in the winter. on the other hand, the sub-arctic temperatures do keep a gal focused...not much trouble to get into other than tinkering on the piano/guitar by the fire. honestly, i'd love to go to LA for a few months and just soak it up, i met some fun people on my last day there. regardless of geographic location, i'll persevere! it sure does help being around all that creative buzz though :) what an amazing experience.

Casey you gotta be the sweetest guy in the world... thanks for these words. i hope i can say the same thing in 11 years and help someone else! i love that you stuck with it and i especially love that you're getting the success you've worked so hard for!! It's easy to get jaded around people with a smaller view of the world and of possibilities, but everyone there at the rally was willing to work and wanted to move forward. I just loved it. Thanks again for your many kindnesses.

I know exactly how you feel Delphia. This was my first Road Rally. I felt like I was in heaven being around creative people 24/7. Everybody was so cool. It was very difficult getting back in the real world after this. I work with people at my day job (non creative but nice people) who could never understand this experience. I wanted so much to be back at the Rally. I can't wait until next year. I'm already planning.

Delphia!! Let me know if you come out to L.A. any time - we're a welcoming bunch!! ;) I used to sing up in the twin cities 2x a year at Canterbury Downs for an Arts show - GREAT people, but WOW the snow was worse than Nebraska!! (which is where I am from originally).
Seriously, if you ever do come out here for another visit, get in touch - there are soooo many cool music things going on regularly - tons of networking opportunities, and just plain friendly nice people.
So glad you are on the forums!

Cher :)

PS I'll friend ya on FB too! :)

Hey, you're from my home state :) Grew up in Boston.... I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing rally withdrawl! i got a lot of nice notes on Facebook. seeing people there and here, and tuning into taxi TV is helping my symptoms - LOL. I'm so glad you had a great experience too, and thanks for letting me know i'm not the only one. Hugs to you, your music, and next year!

Chere - wow! Thank you so much. You should be careful what you ask for because right now I am doing everything in my power to get to LA for a few months (Jan and Feb). I just got a response TODAY from a renter who's interested in my home here, which will give me the money to get out there and escape the cold, watch the ocean, and just get a change of scene....and maybe hang out with you - ha! I'll keep you posted as things develop. I really appreciate your kind and friendly words! Shoot, I hope we're connected on FB, I'm not sure which friend you are...I'll go do some searching. Cheers! -Del

Rally Withdrawal, Post-Rally Depression, a slight cold... I've got it all. :geek:
