Hello
Just finished this track. A comment on how the people who caused all the mess (Bankers) get off scott free with a nice payoff for failure and a slap on the back from their mates whilst those of us who are trying to make an honest living get fried as a result of their mistakes…..

Opinions welcome as always!
Cheers!
Lyrics
You’re gonna lose everything that you worked so hard for
“Circumstances beyond our control”
Gonna lose everything that you thought you would die for
While the bankers never fall
I know you
You’d like to
Take revenge on those who hurt you by telling them this truth
All the money you made you won’t to your grave
Do you think that it’s all worthwhile?
All friends that you made who ensured you got paid
They’re sure to send you out in style
Speculators line their pockets
At our expense every day
You need some education
On legalized foul play
This empty pot
I’m waiting for
Some great return
A new found wealth for some
For every winner there has to be a loser
For every used there has to be a user
You take advantage and pay no thought
A ton of trouble is all that you have bought
Business man working hard to create your empire
Now you’re cap in hand
Never stopped through the night greets the day like a vampire
Your pension funds not gone to plan
And its hard
Its just too hard
You will break through
They will break you!

Re: Out In Style (Some Great Return)
I love the concept and statement (for sure!) but the music (and vocal style) to me sounds "done before"... as in 1980's.
I can't help but cite the very familiar sounds of OMD, Spandau Ballet, Depeche Mode, Human League, Soft Cell, New Order, Simple Minds, Echo and the Bunnymen, etc. Very dated sounding... but, that's just me and my measly opinion!
Hey... I thought "retro" was re-done too!!!!!

Re: Out In Style (Some Great Return)
Thanks Andy for the comments. I suppose I am showing my influences too transparently! That was the sort of music I listened to and loved when I was growing up. I'm not deliberately trying to emulate it but I suppose it's what comes naturally.AndyKotz wrote:I love the concept and statement (for sure!) but the music (and vocal style) to me sounds "done before"... as in 1980's.

I'm trying to detach and let more modern influences in but... it's.... so.... hard.. to .... let.... go!!!
