Wow, this actually turned out to be a good thread. :o

I like you already Lee, great quote!

This is one of those things that most people only realize later in life, but there's generally no point in telling the youngins...
...cause they won't listen... :(

[playful taunt]: Wow, you're grumpy my new friend.

I think that's what Lee is saying here Chuck. :)

Yes, Rob (the author of this comment) is one of those great people.
TheFid wrote:In the old days, things worked a little more logical - where (with quite a few exceptions) good musicians and good bands got the better gigs, and lousy ones got the lesser gigs, and some didn't work at all - that's the way it should be, but seems as years go by, it becomes less and less that way.
Yes, I agree.
crs7string wrote:You are taking a lot of what I am saying and adding words I have not even used to make your point.
I don't think it's personal Chuck. Lee just seems to have a pet hate about Pop Psychology.
The trouble seems to be: when he vents about it (and I'm assuming other issues too) it irritates people because it seems like an attack on them. ;)

I was (and am) too.

The reason why I post this here rather than let Jordy speak for himself is because I'm enthusiastic about his work. Jordy is awesome!
Yes, you're right! I agree.

That's what surprised me too. What's up with that Jordy? :?

I'm glad you decided to renew.
Me too!

As artists we're all outside the norm (ie. you're not alone my friend). ;)

Ya know, music is my true gift and my absolute passion...it begins and ends there. My sister once said that if I didn't have this as an outlet I'd be a homicidal maniac. Now, I don't know how true that is, but...on the other hand...

WHAT THE HELL ELSE AM I GONNA DO? Sell carpets? Work at Costco? I been there, done that, pretty much sucked, and I'm not the type to grouse at a day job, if it's a decent one. At this point in my life (I'll be SIXTY my next birthday) I'm so far in with the music, well, there's no way out and I'm loving it. Thank God I've got such a patient wife!!! :D

BTW, I'm trying to get my photo added to the signature. (I'm not THAT bad-looking!) I've got a 90x90 shot waiting to be loaded but this site doesn't like the url of the photo. What's a 'good' url supposed to look like???

Later...this Forum thing is cool, and a little addictive. Time to go and get some REAL work done, I've got a new cue to work on...

Cheers...Jordy

Hey Jordy. Your photo has to be first loaded to a site like Photobucket, Flickr or even Facebook. Then you grab the URL from it by right clicking on the photo as displayed on whatever site you have chosen to display the photo on. Then choose "copy image location". Go back to the place on your Taxi forum account where you insert your picture's URL. Paste picture's URL info there and you should be good to go. HTH.
This was a great thread BTW..

Ba-Da-BING! Thanks buddy, I'm on it. Yeah, the thread elicited a lot of responses and cross-responses! When all is said and done (or as they say now 'at the end of the day' ;)) I have to keep at this, a few minor tweaks maybe, but like my Lovely Bride said even again this morning 'You're DOING this! Even right now!'. Jusy keeeeeep gettin music out the door, write REEEEAL close to the listings, and keep the pieces coming!
And thanks again Derek for the photo info. My wife reasoned that we could copy the photo to MY website and fly it over from there...sounded reasonable...but maybe it has to be via 'fecesbook', I'll give it a try.

Oh yeah...and how's life in beautiful NM, one of MY fave places on the planet?!?

all the best,
Jordy
