Too 'Zeppelin-y' for Generic Rock?
Hi Campers, I was shooting for generic-sounding rock on this. Next thing ya know, and partly because of the chosen tempo, I found myself in Led Zeppelin Land!
After a while, the track informs me what it wants, not the other way around, so I went with the flow. Plus what the heck, I had fun with it AND I don't often play guitars on my tracks so I had a chance to Whip It Out on this one.
Hopefully I can find a home for it, maybe as source music for a scene in some bar where they dig Zeppelin.
Any thoughts? there's a 'scream'/sound effect at bar 31, after the 'bridge'. Should I take it out? And what about the echo-trails (Jimmy Page-inspired) at the end, should they come off? Nothing's carved in stone yet, so...
The Track is 137 Fear This, check it out and get back to me.
Another question: I normally use numerical prefixes on my film cues, it eases my cataloging process. Do I get that I should lose them when posting these titles to Taxi?
thanks, I've got my ears on...
Jordy

I loved it! MP3 is a bit grainy on Reverbnation, though. The Taxi link produced a 404, sorry. I think the drum sound, as much as the tempo probably pushed you into Zep territory, but that's never a bad place to be, as I'm sure it can find a home. I just heard some "Zepp"-ish stuff in Desperado the other night.

It does have the Zepplin vibe. I'm a believer in the go with the flow philosophy, so I'd keep it as is.
Having said that, this track could be warped into a more Audioslave sound with some textured guitars.
Sample some of their stuff and you'll see what I mean.
This track will find a home.
I like it !

Hey thanxxx for the feedback Bro's...
That's it, AUDIOSLAVE, or some such newer/more current vibe. I will def check them out!
Yeah, after a while you just have to let the track 'do its own thing' and not fight it. Time to move on, I'll try something a little quicker tempo next time. Meanwhile, thanks for listening, I kinda dig it for what it is!
So what's a '404'??? I will confess I've been doing my MP3s at like 128 to save file space...little embarrassed about that ( ) esp. since some of my more recent mp3 files overstep my Ca-Ca Threshold! THIS WILL END. I owe it to myself to go to the Taxi limit of 192 kbps, that can only help. BTW I came across an interesting, short piece on MP3s, I will find it and maybe post it in the Tech section soon...
I'm digging this Forum thing! Was a little slow on the uptake, but i REALLY get the value in exchanging wit y'alls!
best Regards, Jordy

Hey Mr. W.
A "404" is an error code for a bad internet link. The link in your signature is incorrent. It should be:
http://www.taxi.com/georgejordywallace
You had "taximusic.com" where it should be "taxi.com"...
Best,
Casey

Yep, 404 is Apache-speak for "File Not Found".

Liked it, IT has attitude, movement and is overall kickass sound to it. It does sound grainy like some other people have pointed out. Led Zepplin(y) but it's not really dated though. So I suppose generic rock fits it.
