Forwards, Forwards, Forwards!

Post by Casey H » Thu Apr 19, 2012 6:13 pm

Thank you Paul Otten for the great work on our collabs! You rock! 8-) And thank you Taxi, you rock too! 8-)

Our "I Know You Like Me" was forwarded for:
CONTEMPORARY, MAINSTREAM POP SINGER/SONGWRITER-type SONGS a la the range of Jason Mraz, Colbie Caillat, John Mayer, Sara Bareilles, etc., needed by a successful Music Publisher who's gotten tons of great Film/TV placements for many TAXI members. Songs must have a commercial sound with memorable chorus hooks. They're looking for the Hit Radio side of Pop Singer-Songwriter here, not the more moody introspective style, so keep your choruses catchy and hooks BIG. Universal lyrics with no featured names, place names, or detailed storylines, please. Vocal and instrumental performances must be top-notch! They offer a non-exclusive, 50/50 split deal - you keep your original copyrights. Broadcast quality needed (great home recordings are fine). Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than Monday, March 19, 2012. TAXI# Y120319PO
and
Successful Film/TV Music Licensing Company needs ADULT ALTERNATIVE or INDIE SINGER-SONGWRITER Songs for a Hollywood Feature Film. From the company, "We need MID-TEMPO songs with MALE VOCALS a la: "Last Goodbye" by Jeff Buckley - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MMXjunSx80 "Mirrorball" by Elbow - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMD7FIpq11Q "Year of the Rat" by Badly Drawn Boy - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbaTzY6scqs "One" by U2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftjEcrrf7r0&ob Lyrically, the song needs to express some degree of YEARNING for LOVE, FALLING in LOVE, or SEARCHING for the RIGHT THING. We want songs that are MELODICALLY MEMORABLE, but they DON'T need to be super HOOKY or CATCHY. The song needs to MOVE rhythmically without being dance-y or poppy. It should sound POSITIVE, SWEET and HOPEFUL as opposed to MELANCHOLY and JADED. We're looking for SINCERE and HEARTFELT performances -- nothing too polished or over-produced. Don't be afraid to hit us some ballads in time as long as they have a similar vibe to one or more of the references above." As always, DO NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide to style, vibe, and tempo. NO synths or electro-sounding drums please!! Instruments MUST sound AUTHENTIC and NATURAL. Please keep your lyrics UNIVERSAL and AVOID lyrical references to specific NAMES, PLACES or BRANDS. The fee for this license is ESTIMATED at $5,000-$10,000. YOU WILL KEEP 70% of the ultimate fee, and you will NOT give up ANY of your master, publishing or writer's share! You must own or control 100% of the Master and Composition rights to submit for this listing. NO SAMPLES of other songs or artists can be incorporated into your track. Broadcast Quality is needed (excellent home recordings are fine.) Please submit one to three songs online. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS by a person Hand-Picked by the listing company. Please include lyrics. ALL submissions must be received no later than 9:30 AM (PST) Thursday, March 22nd, 2012. TAXI #Y120322AA
And our “Serendipity Smiles” was forwarded for:
LATE 60’s to EARLY 70’s INFLUENCED SONGS and INSTRUMENTALS (in all styles), needed by a Los Angeles-based Indie Label working with a Music Supervisor for various Film/TV placements. The styles can range from Motown, British Pop Rock, California Psychedelic, R&B, Folk-Rock, etc. Tracks submitted MUST have memorable chorus hooks, with POSITIVE and UPLIFTING lyric themes to add the right atmosphere to various scenes. Be sure the tone of your tracks are similar to the eras. Melodic themes are the key component to the songs success, so please send your best! MALE or FEMALE vocals are ok, but MUST feature excellent vocal abilities, accurate pitching, and persuasive emotional expression. Vocal and instrumental performances must be top-notch. Broadcast quality needed (excellent home recordings are okay). Please submit one to three songs/instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened by a representative of the company on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than NOON (PDT) on Thursday, March 29, 2012.
