#S121011SS needs clarification?

Post by petej9 » Mon Sep 03, 2012 3:49 am

They ask for songs for another artist and they want touring/performance experience.
Do they want the songwriter to tour with the guy?
Does this listing need a correction?
Thanks in advance.
New Listing SINGER/SONGWRITER SONGS with MALE VOCALS a la Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers, etc., needed by a HIGHLY successful Management Company looking for songs for a male singer of a popular talent based show. IMPORTANT QUOTE: "We're looking for tracks that have a mainstream sensibility but with organic qualities that fall closer to the acoustic singer/songwriter side of things, with a folk tinge." They'll be looking for RADIO-READY melodies, and lyric themes that can easily translate to mainstream radio, so be sure your songs reflect that level of accessibility. Vocal performances need to be HONEST, with ENGAGING harmonies, and choruses that have you singing log after the song is over. Organic instruments needed; NO MIDI or synths for this pitch. MALE vocals only. Touring/performance experience and image are also important, so please include both a bio and photo with your submission. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by a TAXI screener hand-picked by the company and must be received no later than Thursday, October 11, 2012. TAXI #S121011SS

I was confused about this as well so I emailed Taxi about it. I'll let you know what they say. At first read, it makes no sense to me either. Either there is something we are missing as far as what the listing party is seeking or it's a typo.

Best,
:D Casey

Just heard back from Anthony at Taxi...
Hey Casey,

You are right... This listing is not looking for a photo and bio. Not really sure how that ended up in the listing but we’ll be sure to fix it.

Hope you had a great long weekend as well.

Best,
Anthony
It's so simple when you just ask. Thanks, Anthony!
