Trying to do two instrumental submissions a month......

Post by CHuckmott » Wed Jun 26, 2013 5:16 am

While sticking with genres I am at least fairly good at. That said, unless I want to throw my hat in the ring for hip hop, there doesn't appear to be anything in the instrumental category to submit to. Staying away from "Song" listings as consensus is songs mean vocals, lyrics.

well you could learn hip hop, but you could also write in some styles that are more in your usual range, and will come up again.

Working on another as we speak. Writing twice as much as last year as well which has something to do with it. Considering doing one for the beastie boys mix up, and fleshing out some souncloud "sets". For the Peer to Peer stuff in general, since Taxi is the only place I look to for peer reviews, think I am going to start posting the WIP stuff on the taxi page rather then soundcloud, since soundcloud is linked to my web page and people go there to hear finished products.

you can also put tracks in as "private" on your SC page, and then if they are finished, you can edit them to be "public". You can also make comments silent and delete them if people have put a bunch of comments on the WIP track.

That allows people to listen on mobile devices, which is not something you can do with the flash player on the TAXI site.

Sure but the idea behind putting the WIP is for taxi members from Peer to Peer to take a listen, then I would have to make it "invite only".

Of course I trust Andy, but just want to fact check this: can everyone get to this link now even though I listed it as private, understanding my posting the link is a direct invite. Turns out we are both right, you can list invitees to link as well via soundcloud. https://soundcloud.com/chuck-mott/follow-the-lights That' would be great and helpful on a lot of levels. Thanks for checking. And again Andy thanks for the info.
