Is Dispatch worth the $$

Post by ronnie35 » Tue Feb 17, 2015 8:41 pm

Well, I've been tossing this around a bit. I joined Taxi in 2010.My first few years I was totally blind to what can be acomplished with taxi. I was a little conceded that I played guitar since I was 12 was on the road a music major the whole ego thing. Within the last two years reality set in. There are millions of musicians like me. Taxi is the Holy Grail of learing to write compositions. Any genera taxi will put you in your place in a positive way. I have learned so much within these last 5 years from fellow taxi members /forum the Road Rally, taxi Tv live .I have only received four forwards not to many for the time I have been with taxi. everytime I get a forward I know I am that much closer to fulfilling my passion to write for film and tv. My work ethic has changed I have come to the great understanding WRITE SUBMIT FORGET Which leads me to Dispatch. I believe I am ready to take that leap and to put my Taxi career in to over drive. Is it worth it? For those of you who are in it and are getting forwards and listings does it motivate you more as a composer.

Thanks , Ron

Heya Ron.
I'm a Dispatch member. Using Dispatch requires quick turnaround skills. The Dispatch listings are quite varied. Are you getting the emails with the Dispatch listings? If not, contact TAXI and have them put you on the list. I did that before joining Dispatch just to make sure the listings were a good fit for me. Then when listings came up that I was ready for, I pulled the trigger and joined.

A good way to go if you are in the latter part of your taxi member year is to sign up for dispatch if there are some listings that you think you could do style wise. The dispatch fee is pro-rated.

So say you have 3 months left in this member year and a good looking dispatch listing comes in - then the Dispatch fee is 3/12 * $149 = ~$38.
