That C in the beginning has too much annoying feedback. Maybe the lead guitar is altogether too dominant in mix? I think the rest of the mix is OK, but the guitar is covering much of it. At least to my ears.
Didn't they ask for a song?

Bill,

This is good, a countryish take on this song is very suitable.

You do know the listing is for songs with vocals, right?

I might be able to do a countryish vocal for you. Send me a PM if you're interested.

John

Hi Dominic
I guess you were never a Roy Buchanan fan? :-) I know they asked for a vocal.....its a long story as to why this didn't get the scheduled vocalist on it.......SO I was gonna try and make lemon aide out of lemons so to speak. Thanks for listening, If I modify I'll repost a new one for you to check out.
Thanks

Wasn't there a listing that also said instrumentals were an option?

Hmm, personally I like the harmonic feedback I think it could been a little more prominent such as at 2:24.
I did however think the Guitar was a wee bit loud at times. I also think the Organ was under used for my taste.
Also it sounds like a Les Paul to me (but I have been wrong before). RB mostly (I said mostly) played a Tele No? Just givin you a hard time, I dug it.

Hi there!

I like this take on the tune. I agree about the feedback, although that's just personal taste. I think it detracts from what is otherwise a tasteful arrangement.

In terms of the mix, it's feeling a little bit thin to me. I imagine you've had to take a certain amount out of the mid range to accommodate the lead guitar, but to me it's left the highs feeling a bit brittle (something I suffer from myself!)

If you need to leave the mids clear, is it possible to thicken the bass so it has a bit more floor? For me, some of those chord changes are begging for some warmth from the bass - particularly in the chorus. You could consider automating the bass up briefly for those changes and then rolling it back so you don't sacrifice too much of the highs.

That said, it does feel like a lot of the tune is in the highs. The snare feels like it needs more mid and bottom so that there's a degree of punch. It feels a bit electronic at the moment. Same with the kick.

And I'd recommend lowering whatever that doubled sound is (sounds like it might be a ride, in which case why is it playing at the same time as the hats in some places? Or is it a pick sound?). It's a bit obtrusive for me at the moment - I think you only need a hint of it for the widening effect I think you're going for.

Apologies that this is a bit stream of consciousness, but I hope it's useful.

:D Rockchild The lead guitar is a Fender Nocaster and it' plugged straight into a Tweed Deluxe Amp then going thru a Tube Tech CL1B compressor on the mixdown (common misconception that you can't make a tele sound fat!! :-)) Thanks for checking it out!!!! (I agree I like the Roy feedback (I'm as vintage as my Tele) moral of the story.....never trust a Tele younger than you are

Matt....Thanks for the input as well

Hey Bill, I really liked your version, great feel, you'd have the whole place up on the dance floor. Sounded like one of those songs you probly just love to play, that comes out in the performance. BTW great solo there at the 3/4 mark wow ..... The mix is good, something in the backing track sounds a little distorted (minor) just towards the end, maybe it was clipping ? Hardly noticeable, but I was, you know, "really listening" . Great track, wouldn't change anything except check for a little distortion there as mentioned.
There's my 2 cents :)
