Submission Decision Time
I submitted music for U150507SC due May 7 and S150513NA due May 13. It's now June 11 and I haven't heard anything back yet. I'm going nuts. I'm new here and anxious to get some feedback. Positive or negative. How long is it going to take?

Re: Submission Decision Time
It's not unusual to take this long. Best thing you can do is work on other listings while you wait.

good luck!

Hi Steven, I think you have some cool Alt. Blues/Rock flavors and edge here but I find that as the song progresses it starts to lose some rhythmic cohesion and clarity and the lead guitar and backing vocals start to risk getting a little frenetic. I could see this being a lot of fun to listen to live but for licensing I worry that it is a little too muddled and might be distracting when paired to picture.

I don’t know that I agree with the
part but I think I understand what the listener was getting at. It is too much of arhythmic cohesion
type of song for a movie scene maybe. Either way, I appreciate the critique even though it was a yes/no submission and it will help me focus the next time I submit for a similar post. It’s a learning experience and I’m really just starting.jam

Sure and thanks!
I created a soundcloud account and put it up there: https://soundcloud.com/crashicalmusic/the-wrong-boy
Here's the listing:
U150507SC
ORIGINAL, CONTEMPORARY FILM AND TV FRIENDLY SONGS are needed for TAXI Compilations that we send out as “calling cards” to Music Supervisors and Film/TV Music Licensing Companies we haven’t worked with yet. We are going to run another Listing for Instrumentals, so please don’t submit anything without lyrics for this pitch!! These are some of the genres we know Supervisors and Licensing Companies are freuqntly looking for: Singer/Songwriter, Adult Contemporary, Top 40 Pop, Pop/Rock, Blues/Rock, Country, EDM, Indie Folk, Dream Pop, Rap/Hip Hop, R&B, Indie Pop, Indie Rock, etc., etc., etc. We’re open to hearing anything that ranges from incredibly strong stripped-down Guitar or Piano/Vocal songs to Full Productions that sound like radio hits. In all cases, we’re going to be looking for songs with great musicianship and vocals that will help support the emotion in a variety of scenes. TAXI Tip: Our A&R team will be looking for the “best of the best” for this, so please don’t get bummed out if you don’t get selected for this opportunity. It doesn’t mean your song isn’t good, but we are going to be very selective as we will only be able to use a few songs for each genre. Many of the songs we’ve been using for our recent compilations have already been signed at this point, so we need some fresh examples so the Supervisors and Libraries can hear just how good our members are! Please send ORIGINAL songs (not covers) in ALL Styles/Genres and ALL Tempos that would work well for Film or TV Placements and are NOT already signed with any Publishers, Libraries, or Record Labels! Your submissions should have universal lyrics that avoid using specific names, dates, times, places, brands or profanity. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). You must own or control the copyright and master recording to submit for this pitch. All Songs will be screened on a Yes/No basis. No full critiques. Please submit 1-3 Songs no later than 11:59 pm (PDT), on Thursday, May 7th, 2015. TAXI #U150507SC

Re: Submission Decision Time
the nice thing to know is that the screener is always right. on the few tracks i've gotten feedback, i had to dive in and try to understand the advice. i found it not to be nearly as subjective as i thought was at first. feedback is usually well written and easily understood. the screeners are right, not the blog mob.
