My Project Studio with New 27" iMac

Post by RonKujawa » Sat Jul 23, 2016 8:58 am

After running with a 2010 MacBook Pro for six years, yesterday my new 27" 5K i5 late 2015 iMac arrived, providing a huge upgrade to my studio. I'm still downloading updates and transferring files, but here are a few pics showing my workspace.

It's a thing of beauty... especially like the funky old-looking table/desk.
Does that go back to Lincoln? :?
I hope that the "a clean desk is the sign of a sick mind" axiom does not apply here...
maybe you just did some serious tidying up for the magazine-cover shot, right?
You don't really work that clean, right? :? :P
Looking good there, Ron.

Nice !

Those look like Adam Monitors....they look smaller than mine so I am guessing A5x ? ..and is that a Focusrite Pro24 I see hiding away mounted under the desk?

How do you find your way through all that clutter? ;) .
Nice and clean setup!

Minimialist design, I love it! But it looks like you left your keyboard in the dryer a bit too long. ;-)

You guys are hilarious!!

It's definitely not always that clean, but with installing the new iMac, it gave me a good excuse to clear the deck. ;-)

@paulie - Since I play keys one note at a time, this size works well for me. :)

@Cwadroon - It's typically not this clean. In fact, it's already becoming a mess since I took the pictures. :)

@cosmicdolphin - Good eye! They are Adam monitors, but A3X. I have to double check my low end on mixes in the car and on headphones, but I've had them for a few years now and can predict pretty well how they will translate. And yes, Focusrite interface. It's a Pro DSP 24. I removed the top of the case, drilled holes in it, mounted to the underside of the desk and put it all back together. Pretty clean setup. I also have a Focusrite iTrack Solo when I go portable.

@funsongs - Lincoln! Right! I honestly don't know where this desk came from. Probably a yard sale. It's a great size and I love it.

Cool and clean Ron.

Serious cases of "minimalist envy" from previous posters. :D
