Love Song in the Sand ©2016 Robert George BMI
Well, it seemed like me and my six-string
Felt no more songs to write and sing
So we walked down to the moonlit sea
And we heard its natural melody
Then we saw her jogging on the shore
And her smile was heaven’s door
And her blonde hair flying in the night
Was like a magic, golden kite
I could feel it in my heart,
So I strummed my old guitar
Kneeled down and began to write
A love song in the sand
A love song in the sand
I believed the world, deserved to know that girl
The sea could not erase, her beauty or her grace
From that love song in the sand
Well, I sang that song one summer day
For a seaside crowd in Tampa Bay
And they sang along just like a choir
Later on I had to laugh
Cos I signed an autograph
For the girl with gold hair who inspired
A love song in the sand
A love song in the sand
I believed the world, deserved to know that girl
O time could not erase, her beauty or her grace
From that love song in the sand
Well, we talked awhile then took a ride
And we parked beside the rising tide
Love was ours to create,
It’s as if the hand of fate
Had been helping us to write
A love song in the sand
A love song in the sand
I believed the world, deserved to know that girl
The sea could not erase, her beauty or her grace
From our love song in the sand
O the moonlight and the mist
First a dance and then a kiss
Then a love song in the sand
A love song in the sand…
