Co Writing ....

Post by TimWalter » Tue Oct 18, 2016 1:09 pm

Hello, Taxi members
How do you deal with differences? Should it be always be a pretty postiive experience, or should you expect some rocky roads?

Depends on the difference, I guess. ;)

Just keep it all on the table, don't hold back. If you don't like the direction the track is going, just say so. "I was thinking about the track going this way, I'm not really digging what we have right now. What are your thoughts on trying <this> instead?"

And, sometimes collabs don't work out for personal reasons or creative differences. Makes sense to call a project off if you think it is not going well. Better to focus your time on productive/positive experiences.

PM me if there's something you'd rather not chat about here. :)

In some states, I think it's legal to simply shoot your co-writer. :P

Seriously, what Paulie said. It takes a lot of honesty, acceptance of honesty, and give and take. I've had many that worked out great and others for which we had to agree it just wasn't working.

Good luck!
:D Casey
