Trailer Brass - sample library

Post by Cruciform » Sat Nov 19, 2016 6:16 pm

I've looked and looked and never found a brass library that quite satisfies me for trailer work. I have to use all sorts of processing to beef 'em up.

But finally this looks like a really good option about to be released. http://www.musicalsampling.com/trailer-brass/

Walkthrough here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulVcRm9 ... e=youtu.be

Edit: yum, first play is delicious. Will report back once I've used it in something.

Did you have Cinebrass, already? I hear good things, and I have a version including some bits that I quite like; then again, trailers can be a special case.

Yes, Cinebrass is what I currently use. It's quite a beautiful and expressive library - but nothing is ever quite big enough for trailers.

I wonder what sort of CPU power it needs... I've stopped chasing trailers because I don't have the horsepower to run enough libraries to get the right sound a la Nick Murray.
The price is nice though... $199.

Hey Stuart - how you going?

Paulie - I did a little comparison. I was quite surprised that Trailer Brass had a more significant hit on my CPU than Cinebrass. TB is very simple in comparison and loads way quicker so I guess a lot is to do with how the Cinebrass devs have optimised their Kontakt scripting.

Have you tried Metropolis Ark? It is designed for trailers. Very similar to Trailer Brass in my opinion.

Hey Steve, I didn't want to spend that much just to upgrade brass.

Yeh, if you need to a lot of freezing I'll take a guess this one might be a bit frustrating for you.
