Taxi Community and Success

Post by Casey H » Wed Dec 21, 2016 5:41 am

Hi all
Just wanted to say a word again about the power of the Taxi community and collaboration with other Taxi members. :D

I was just looking over the list of songs I have in that "critically important" LA library that does such a great job getting placements. I now have 29 songs in the library. More significant is that 25 of them are co-writes with other Taxi members. And ALL 29 were produced by Taxi members either as pure work for hire or as part of a collaboration. Oh, and then there's the many dozens of co-written songs and cues in a number of other libraries.

All this became possible because of this forum and the road rally. This is by far the best music community in the universe. 8-) Thank you Taxi, my co-writers and producers, and all of you who helped me learn so much! :D

I want to encourage everyone to embrace this community. Get to know your fellow members! Attend the road rally and network with your peers. It really works! :D

Best wishes for the holidays.
 Casey

Good numbers there, Casey.

Sometimes I think of the collaboration between TAXI members and how MUCH members' Music is out there being used. It reminds me of The Wrecking Crew.

But then maybe "wrecking" isn't the proper word to use in the same breath as "taxi".

+1 :D
I'm with Marcus, absolutely correct that it makes the Rally more fun!
Thank you Casey for voicing this. Collabs have helped me make a dent into this profession!
For me It's so much easier (and fun) to mix collaborative tunes, I focus less on the minutia of my playing and more on the overall feeling.
Cheers to the School of Taxi!

Totally agree with Casey - collaboration, helpfulness and sheer kindness, is the ethos of so much that goes on via Taxi - and it works so well, and in such a fun way :)
