What does no more than 2 minutes long mean?

So when a listing states "submissions should be no more than 2 minutes long" what would you think the minimum could be. 60 secs? 90 secs?

I always aim for the top end - around 2 minutes. An editor can always take bits out of a longer track, but something that's too short is harder to extend in an interesting (as opposed to copy/past) way

I always try to get as close to the limit as possible. You never know how long they may want to use your music, so giving the sup options is always a good thing. If it says no more than two minutes I try to end the ring out (or stinger before the clock hits 2:00, musically phrasing of course. :)

The irony here is that most ques on TV are chopped up in 10-20 second clips. At least in my experience.

Yeah, I think 1:19 is the longest cue I've ever had used on a TV show, most have been 30sec or less. A library I'm currently doing cues for only needs 60-90 lengths.

The aim is to give them a lot of material so that they can chop it up and decide what to use for themselves - hence edit points, variations every 4 bars and so on.

Well,

They used to not accept a track if it was a few seconds under the 2 minute mark.

I wonder if they will now return tracks a few seconds over the 2 minute mark.

I hope Taxi will make this very clear to us! We need to know this stuff.

the current ghost hunter cue says:

"Your submissions should be 90 seconds long with non-faded, buttoned endings"

So I'm going to try to nail 90 seconds, even though my current draft is only 110 seconds.
