A Pair of Parisian Forwards!

Post by steveboy » Thu May 18, 2017 6:47 pm

Hey Gang,

Just got two forwards for these tunes:

https://soundcloud.com/user-3783549/parisian-parasol

https://soundcloud.com/user-3783549/a-minor-majority

PARISIAN JAZZ INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a prominent Music Library that loves the material they get from TAXI members! They’re eagerly searching for some authentic-sounding Parisian Jazz Instrumentals in a range of Tempos and Styles that would expect to hear on a playlist with songs like this: “Recado” by Original Paris Swing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kF0fvck0EMo “Swing 41” by Je Suis Seul Ce Soir https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IF3_2P7F46c “Bistro Fada” by Stephan Wrembel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iSCbCiY74c Please give them well-performed Jazz Instrumentals that have a Parisian-style sound and instrumentation. Ensemble size can vary for this pitch; everything from a solo instrumental to a stripped-down Jazz trio, to a much fuller ensemble could work, as long as the music still has a Parisian vibe. The client is open to a variety of moods; your piece could have a subtle, romantic Parisian Jazz feeling, or more of an Up-Tempo, “Django-esque” guitar sound, as long as the overall vibe of the piece instantly transports viewers/listeners to Paris. Think about what you might hear in a scene that takes place in a smoke-filled cabaret, or while watching an artist painting a cityscape on Rive Gauche, or the interior of an upscale French restaurant -- that’s what they’re looking for! All submissions should be at between 3:00 and 5:00 minutes long, give or take. Non-Faded/Buttoned endings with a natural ring out will work best.

Thanks Anna! Yes indeed, my guitar playing and a bit of canned bass. Thanks for giving it a listen. :)

Wonderful playing Steve on these delightful tunes. Congratulations on the forwards, but they really deserve it.
Graham (UK). Still composing a little faster than decomposing, and 100% HI.

Thanks Graham! I'm finding one of my favorite things about Taxi is how it pushes me into some different directions. I've always loved this style but don't get many opportunities to explore it.

Thank you Dave! Both rhythm and melody tracks are a late 40's Gibson LG2. Not exactly a gypsy jazz guitar but if I pick close to the bridge it gets in the ballpark. There are some pretty great inexpensive modern Maccaferri style guitars out there that really nail it. i keep waiting for Santa to bring me one... ;)

You still did a great job, even without a guitar like Django's.

These are so perfect!

Recently rewatched "Midnight In Paris" movie. Woody Allen could've used these. :)
Going to Paris actually next week.
