Collaborator needed for new Country listing

Post by mikemichnya » Mon Jul 17, 2017 9:30 pm

Hey all,

I posted this old song of mine - https://soundcloud.com/mamichnya-1/good-ol-days-wip - for feedback in peer-to-peer. It might work for the new listing below (with some rewriting).

I'm looking to collaborate with anyone who thinks they can help push it over the top, especially a better vocalist and someone with production skills. Of course, any and all feedback is always welcome.

Thanks in advance.

GOOD OL’ DAYS
words and music by Michael A. Michnya

My kids were down in the basement, messin' around
Playin' hide 'n' seek - guess what they found?
My old yearbook, from way back in junior high
We sat down and flipped through the pages
My daughter said, "Daddy, are you okay?"
I said,"Mm, honey, got a speck of dust in my eye."

I said, “Those were my Good Ol’ Days
Runnin’ wild with my best friends
Seemed like they’d never end
Those Good Ol’ Days
I love those Good Ol’ Days
Sometimes I look back on them
I'll never see the like again
Of those Good Ol’ Days

Page thirty-two that’s my first girl friend,
Teenage heartbreak I'd do it again
Our last date was when I first met your mom.
All the sloppy handwritten notes
Were my old pals making silly jokes
But they were the one’s I always could count on.

Those were my Good Ol’ Days
Runnin’ wild with my best friends
Seemed like they’d never end
Those Good Ol’ Days
I love those Good Ol’ Days
Sometimes I look back on them
I'll never see the like again
Of those Good Ol’ Days

Now I’ve got great kids and a wonderful wife and I love my life
I’d never trade a single today for those good old days

‘Cause these are my Good Ol’ Days
Runnin’ after you wild kids
I wish they’d never end
These Good Ol’ Days
I love these Good Ol’ Days
One day I’ll look back on them
I'll never see the like again
Of these Good Ol’ Days

I love these Good Ol’ Days
These Good Ol’ Days
Make the most of these Good Ol’ Days
These Good Ol’ Days
Good Ol’ Days

NEW LISTING: CONTEMPORARY COUNTRY SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed for an (up to) $3,500, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement as the Opening Theme Song for a new Reality Show. They’re on the hunt for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that could be heard on the same playlist as artists like (but not limited to) Alan Jackson, LeAnn Rimes, Tyler Farr, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the following references to get a general idea of the type of songs they need for this show:

“Good Time” by Alan Jackson: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSROm-vgVRk
“Good Friend And A Glass of Wine” by LeAnn Rimes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYY-abz_-FQ
“Damn Good Friends” by Tyler Farr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGI6VZ8osww

Please submit well-structured songs with fresh, contemporary melodies, great vocals, big hooky choruses, and modern-sounding Country production. Your submission should be compelling from start to finish, with conversational, visual lyrics packed with tons of details and imagery. Be sure your vocal performance is believable, with an honest Country vocal delivery.

NOTE: They’re looking for lyrics about “family, friendship, the good old days, memories, good times, and family bonds.”

Your lyrics should sound happy, hopeful, or celebratory in the chorus. Songs with a chorus that’s super strong and has lyrics in that ballpark could be especially attractive! Please do NOT copy the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and feel. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

The estimated license fee for this use is (up to) $3,500, depending on the ultimate placement. This Production Company buys out the publisher’s share when they pay you the sync fee. You’ll get 100% of the Writer’s share, and the Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher’s share. Please do NOT submit music for this pitch that is already signed to any other Libraries or Publishers. You must own or control your Copyright and Master recording. Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Tuesday, July 25th, 2017. TAXI #S170725CS
Best regards,

Michael (Amoriello) Michnya
