Ferrick v. Spotify?

Post by ACWhammy » Fri Aug 11, 2017 12:09 pm

Did anyone else get a postcard in the mail regarding Ferrick v. Spotify? It states, "If you own copyrights in musical compositions that Spotify made available for interactive streaming and/or limited downloadgin, you could get benefits from a class action settlement."

If I'm registered on Sound Exchange, then I'm already getting all of my streaming royalties, correct?

Any insight on this would be helpful,

AC

I got the postcard. I didn't read all of it before tossing it.

It reminds me of another class-action suit. The local news had a piece about it, you would be entitled to $70-$100. It's down to $6.79. I'm sure the attorney's are doing well.

Yeah, I got that postcard too. I'll probably jump on board to collect my couple of bucks. Class action lawsuits always result in very small payouts to the multitudes of individuals who deserve some recompense. But still, better than nothing. If anything, it makes me feel good to know Spotify lost a major lawsuit and now has to shell out something to the creators that have been supplying their means to make millions of dollars.
