Hi Les.
The Gypsy Jazz guitar is a Cigano GJ5 large D-hole ( or Grande Bouche as they say) Maccaferri style - relatively inexpensive student model made by a firm called Saga, and they also make the "Gitane" range which is more expensive and in my view better quality. However, the Cigano is great for starters and certainly has that Gypsy Jazz sound. I have been playing Rock Blues and Country for 42 years and now I'm getting into Manouche music, it's like I started learning all over again. Very inspiring! Some of those chords do have someone's telephone number written after them though ! Ha ha ha!!
Cheers/Steve

ps - thanks for the tip on putting the plastic finger picks in hot water to straighten them out. Hadn't thought of that!
I use metal picks when playing Dobro or hybrid picking ( flat pick and fingers) when playing electric or acoustic. Wrecks the nails though! :D
