Rock and Roll Dreams

Post by johnlewitt » Fri Oct 06, 2017 5:51 am

Hey All,

Here's a new tune that I'm looking to get mix feedback on.

Thanks for your help.

The main thing that stuck out to me is it sounds you've carved too much low end off your vocal so it sounds really thin & tinny..conversely the guitars sound like they could use a little mud taking out of the low end.

I could use a little more kick to drive it along too, on some speakers it's inaudible so it is probably missing some low mids

Hope that helps !

Mark

Thanks Mark.

I've got a very natural bass in my singing voice so I have to watch how I EQ it sometimes!

And I'll check out the other points too.

Cheers,

John

Hey John,

Solid track. Nice!

Mix is sounding a bit too centred for me especially the drums. Guitar spread is there but rhythm section all seems to be down the middle or maybe I have crap headphones on at the moment.

Hi John,
I love this track, it sounds great to me. I'm not a great engineer so I can't offer mix advice.
I really like the call and answer vocal on the chorus, however, I could hear in my head, a three part vocal on the first line of the chorus ' Rock and Roll Dreams '. To big up that great title. Thats just thought, it sounds superb anyway.

Respect Paul
