Sharing Some Old Stuff #WeAllHaveOldStories
One of the fun things for me at the Rally is getting to hear everyone's story.
It's very natural for us to place an element of value on our musical history and want to validate it with others...
Granted, it can get a bit taxing when overly repeated!
While outside smoking (what a surprise) a member shared with me a recording of some of his throat singing (that I dig)
It reminded me of a project I collaborated in the late 90's
Hadn't listened to the album in years but found it on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/7--jK6mJ0Io
MAKE SURE YOU GET THROUGH THE FIRST MINUTE OF INTRO - OR Just Fast forward!
I'm on the 12 string acoustic throughout most of the album, about the best I ever played that instrument!
Thought someone here might like it...

+1... what she wrote.annayarbrough wrote:Cool vibe, Cass! I like it
No music or selfie to share - but just a short story:
about when I found out, some 3 weeks later, that I had seen one of - if not the last - of Jimi Hendrix's live performances.
It was a rainy, miserable Sunday...the weekend of September 6th, 1970... on the Island of Fehmarn, in the Baltic Sea, above Germany; the last day of a 3-day festival where I'd also seen Canned Heat, GInger Baker's Air Force, Sly and The Family Stone, Aardvark... to name just a few I can remember.
Watched most all of the festival either from the opening in a shared pup tent, or sitting outside, under clear plastic tarps. There may have been some dry moments...
but not many smokeless ones.
There are some You Tube posts with 8mm film of some of that; but nothing that really captured what it was like.
Cheers.

Well, yeah - except for Jimi. The news of his passing, so soon after seeing him, was unbelievable.
