ACOUSTIC-based SINGER/SONGWRITER INSTRUMENTAL CUES
Glad this got through the gate. Was kind of a test to see how simple is too simple. 3 A sections, adding a single element each repeat. The opening guitar was recorded with a harmonica mic. Very lo-fi.

ACOUSTIC-based SINGER/SONGWRITER INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a great Music Library with a long, long list of TV, Film, and Commercial placements. They’re on a mission to find a bunch of Mid-Tempo-ish Instrumental Cues that could stylistically fit on a playlist like this: “Two of Us on the Run” by Lucius: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHXYn9MCa08 “Can't Make You Love Me” by Bon Iver: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbtUs4EIQIE “Change It All” by Harrison Storm: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOOW95P8LB4 Although the references have vocals, this request is for Instrumentals only! Give them intimate, well-crafted, organic-sounding Instrumental Cues that are in the general wheelhouse of the references above with authentic sounding acoustic-based instrumentation. Your production should be focused around acoustic guitar or piano, with arrangements that vary from a compelling solo instrumental, to a fuller ensemble sound. Build your Cue around a central melodic idea and keep it interesting by adding and subtracting layers of instrumentation as it progresses. Avoid using any instruments that sound stiff or MIDI-driven, as well as anything that could distract from dialog in a scene. TAXI Tip: Note how the reference material doesn’t sound like 1970’s “strummy” acoustic Singer/Songwriters? Modern Singer/Songwriters are often sort of ethereal sounding… sort of float-y and dreamy. That’s what this company is looking for: Simple and ethereal. The vocal is often the thing that makes them sound like that, so your job is to come up with some sort of simple melody done with something other than a voice to fill that need and create that “vibe.” TAXI Tip 2: Cool reverb is also part and parcel to this modern sound. Be careful to use just enough and not overdo it! All submissions should be at least 2 minutes in length. Please do not copy the referenced music in any way, shape, or form. Use it only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and vibe. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). They offer an EXCLUSIVE deal. You’ll split all upfront sync fees 50/50. They’ll get 100% of the Publisher’s share, and you’ll get 100% of the Writer’s share. You must own or control 100% of your Master and Copyright. Since this is an EXCLUSIVE deal, please be sure the material you submit for this pitch is NOT already signed with any other Libraries or Catalogs. Please submit as many Instrumental Cues as you’d like online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - Short Critiques only. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Friday, November 3rd, 2017. TAXI #Y171103SC

Re: ACOUSTIC-based SINGER/SONGWRITER INSTRUMENTAL CUES
Just goes to show it's about the emotional setup behind a scene, not drawing attention to the song/cue its self.
The low fi gives it more of an indie feel, which is what everyone is looking for now.
Simplicity has paid off. Sweet job.

Nice piece, Steve! The guitar sounds great, too. (I need to upgrade my low end Taylor eventually )

Thanks Kit! Thanks Adam! Appreciate the kind words. Yeah, Kit, the low fi thing still seems to find a place. Who'd a thought!

Wow—simple yet perfect for this listing. Did you write this specifically for the cue? Either way, bravo man. Really well done. Did you start playing around with lyrics for it too or is it strictly an instrumental?
