Proud Of This

Post by mobster85 » Wed Feb 07, 2018 9:52 am

Hi folks.
I know I haven't been on here much lately but I wanted to share this success with all of you. Alexander Fox and I have been writing Cuban music for a couple of years and we continue to have success. Our first placement was in the Netflix movie "The Incredible Jessica James " a very funny movie by the way. Our cue "Bayamo" was used during a restaurant scene early in the movie when she is out on a date. Pretty cool.
The second placement was on Vice News Season 5 Episode 9. This one was really out front. You can Hear it really good and it's exciting to watch. It plays for about 1:44 which is cool.
This never happens without going to the Road Rally 2 years in a row. I met Alex at the 2015 Rally and the publisher who got the 2nd placement at the 2016 Rally.
So having said all of this I had been contemplating not renewing with Taxi but have come to the conclusion that I will renew. This 2nd placement has given me some new hope with the direction I'm going.
Thanks for all of your support.

And - I'll add some "thanks" on a personal note: because of your posting of your collaboration with Alex, and then meeting Alex at the 2016 RR - I was able to get some authentic Latin percussion added to a track of mine (albeit, not for a listing - yet - but for a CD project of mine). And when I ran into Alex again last November, I was grateful for the exchange we were able to have - as friends. He even surprised and humored me by singing to me the song he had worked on...
(with Anna Yarbrough & her hubby as my witnesses!! :P ).
Without TAXI, the Community Forums, and the Road Rally - none of those fun little 'details' that make up ones life - would have happened.

Lastly, I've enjoyed what your 'duo' has contributed to the world of music, and I relish the little things - seeing you guys and saying "Hi!" at The Westin LAX.

Looking forward to hearing more new music - as yet to be created - from you.
Thanks for the memories, Bob & Alex; Cheers!

Nice story Bob, and another testament to the wonder of the rally. Congratulations and best wishes for many more great placements. :)
