Anyone working on TAXI #Y180412EJ?

Post by LamarPecorino » Mon Apr 09, 2018 7:10 pm

Anyone working on something for this listing? I'm working on an idea, but not sure that I can get it done in time. More Mancini, than the other reference pieces. I've been watching Mr. Lucky on Netflix. ;)
A WIDE RANGE of ORIGINAL, EASY LISTENING JAZZ /LOUNGE INSTRUMENTALS are needed for some (up to) $25,000, placements by a NON-Exclusive Publisher that’s feeding material to the Music Supervisor of a Hit TV Series. They’re looking for MidTempo Instrumentals (Modern/retro-sounding or Vintage Productions can both work) that have the general style and vibe of the following reference we got from them!

“Some Small Chance” by Serge Gainsbourg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIcXKkCw1Sk

“Boulevard of broken dreams” by Esquivel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_cont ... EhMCQXjC18

“Banzai Pipeline” by Henry Mancini and His Orchestra: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_cont ... fKPsLGERaU

Please submit well-crafted Instrumentals (not Cues) that are smooth, cool, and convey a retro-Jazzy, old school lounge vibe. Your submissions can incorporate either classic Lounge-style instrumentation or a more laid back orchestral Jazz sound. Please any avoid instruments that sound synthetic, obviously MIDI-driven or quantized, as that could take away from the authenticity and “human-ess” of your piece. If you could imagine hearing your submissions used in a James Bond or Oceans 11 type movie, send it in!

NOTE: They’re open to hearing both recently recorded Instrumentals that sound retro and authentic, vintage masters recorded back in the day.

All submissions should be about two to four minutes long, give or take. Non-Faded/Buttoned endings with a natural ring-out will work best. Do not copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as general guide for overall feel, texture and tone. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

NOTE: The sync fee we were quoted is between $10,000 - $25,000. However, our experience tells us that the sync fee quoted for this placement is probably based on them licensing a song from a well-known act through a big publisher like Sony or Universal. We think the sync fee could be lower for an unknown, independent act, or music they’d get from a “library.” We would “guesstimate” that the range for an unknown artist’s song would be in the $1,500 - $5,000 range. It could go higher, but we think it’s better to manage expectations and be conservative.

This Publisher offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE 50/50 deal. You’ll get 50% of the sync fee and 100% of the Writer’s share. They’ll get 50% of the sync fee and 100% of the Publisher’s Share. You’ll keep 100% of the original copyright and master. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit for this. Please submit as many Songs you’d like online or per CD. All Submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a TAXI screener handpicked by the Publisher- No Full Critiques. Please submit as many Instrumentals as you’d like online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Thursday, April 12th, 2018. TAXI #Y180412EJ
Onward and upward!
