corrupted notepad file

anyone who knows how to recover a corrupted notepad file? it shows up as this weird stuff below, just a lot more of it:

P * U T6I h E'\ #vUZ*c6D6 6

file size seems to be normal.
i've tried to open it in different programs, and also from my backups. same shit. tried to run it through one of these recovery programs (recuva) but no result.

all my other text files seem to be fine.

Sorry I can't help but the only times I've seen stuff like that is when files didn't finish writing, admittedly there was a lot more gobbled gook.
