(It’s a Fine Line) Between an Angel and a Ghost ©2018 Robert George BMI
Well, he always took a corner table
And he’d sit there hopin’ for some peace
Ev’ry day he’d haunt, local restaurants
Like his soul had perished overseas
One day ev’rybody stood there frozen
When a customer pulled out a gun
But he didn’t even think, it was pure instinct
When he jumped up and saved ev’ryone
It was like a man forgotten by life
Was sent to help them all survive
It’s a fine line
Between an angel and a ghost
And help seems to arrive
When we need it the most
People we don’t know are there,
Are the answer to our prayer
And it’s a fine line
Between an angel and a ghost
Well, her husband drove an eighteen wheeler
He was headin’ home on their anniversary
He hit the brakes and swerved, on a misty mountain curve
To avoid a fallen tree
Six months after his funeral
She parked on some railroad tracks one night
A train whistled in the dark, a truck pulled up behind her car
And pushed her off the tracks into the light
Cos when she got out and looked around
That big rig was nowhere to be found
It’s a fine line
Between an angel and a ghost
And help seems to arrive
When we need it the most
Spirits we don’t know are there,
Are the answer to our prayer
And it’s a fine line
Between an angel and a ghost
No one can predict The Lord’s will
Or those whom He protects
Sometimes the instruments He chooses
And the soldiers that he uses
Have one foot in this world and one in the next
It’s a fine line
Between an angel and a ghost
And help seems to arrive
When we need it the most
People we don’t know are there,
Are the answer to our prayer
And it’s a fine line
Between an angel and a ghost
Between an angel and a ghost
An angel and a ghost…
Between and Angel and a Ghost
