The "Let's Be Frank" CD project started from inspiration and connections made right here in the Community Forums.
First - being introduced and listening to the wonderful music of fellow TAXI member, Louise Goldberg - whose writing & chops inspired me to try a genre
"out of my comfort zone" - Crooner/Big Band/Rat Pack/Sinatra.
NEXT - after writing some lyrics: I posted up at the Collaboration Corner, looking for a composer of that style.
11 months later!! Newbie-then, Lamar Pecorino contacted me - and the journey began.
The composer of the other 4 tunes is not a TAXI member - but, due to the quality of my collaboration with Lamar and our "DEMO" - San Diego's premiere
Jazz guitarist/composer agreed to work with me to complete my vision for the project; and he got us the vocalist - who had WON a competition doing
sound-alike Frank Sinatra songs.
I was very excited about the final, completed product, and wanted to present a copy as a token of my appreciation to Michael for creating the platform for making the connections necessary for such a dream to become a reality.
The mention on TAXI TV - twice - was an unexpected, wonderful and humorous, 'bonus'.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Shoutout to Michael - thank you!!
