400 tracks

Post by Paulie » Thu May 10, 2018 8:24 pm

I've been working my butt off this year trying to get placements, my composing time has been 100% dedicated to writing for specific libraries. On Dec 28 last year I uploaded my 300th cue to a library. Tonight, I just uploaded my 400th cue. As an aside, that is a LOT of dang meta data: my 400 is full mixes, I'm not counting all of the alt mixes in that total.

My hope is that the past 6-9 months of uploading to quality libraries will start showing up in my royalty statements. If you want to make money in the business, quantity is part of the game (quality is a foundational given). Folks like Matt Vanderboegh and Marcus Cohen inspire me, and the Taxi community energizes me. :)

Taxi listings have introduced me to a world of music opportunities and genres I’ve never heard of before. The Taxi forums continue to provide an education better than any classroom, on topics ranging from gear recommendations to quality constructive feedback on music and mixing efforts. My Taxi membership connected me with a world of like-minded musicians that I am happy to call friends and partners. And attending the Rally is always the icing on the cake… it is where I made my first library connections and molded casual online relationships into real personal relationships and working partnerships.

We all know the music business has its ups and downs, it’s not a place for the thin skinned or those with little patience or passion. However, with proper expectations, a strong work ethic and a solid personal network one can achieve a lot in this business, especially thanks to Taxi and all that it has provided its members over the years.

That's quite an achievement Paulie. No doubt all that hard work and dedication will soon start to pay you back. Thanks for the inspiration! :)

Hmm... I would guess that perhaps 20% of those are collaborations.
