Anyone have songs with library that begins with "C" and rhymes with "who shill"

Post by JohnnyP » Tue Jun 26, 2018 6:59 am

Hi,
I've got several songs with the above non-excl library and I've just noticed on my account that recently they've pitched one of mine to a new Clint Eastwood movie and the TV show Shameless.
My questions to my fellow passengers (who have songs signed with them) is does this particular library pitch the same song to 2 different opportunities so soon (within a week of each other) unless the first one was passed on?
I would ask the library but in their FAQ they ask that we don't contact them re pitches. I'm trying to let them do their job!
I guess I could wait til my next statement but I was curious.
Thanks in advance and here's the song. John

if they receive 10 requests in a single day, and your song fits the criteria for all 10, it is going to be pitched to all 10. thats what they do.

with love and respect, what is your concern with this?

Hi Owen,
Thanks for answering. Not concerned really, I was just curious what their pitch criteria is.
These are my first pitches through this particular company.
I didn’t know if the fact that they pitched the same song again it means the first pitch didn’t “take”.
I know they’re non-exclusive but with a vocal song I was wondering about saturation.
Obviously a non issue!
Thanks again and best to ya!

I dont think saturation comes into play here. If it fits the request, it fits, regardless of whether it was pitched recently for something else.

Also , I dont think they wait to see if a track is used before they pitch it elsewhere. After it is pitched, I imagine it is in the hands of the client and their decision makers and the library moves on to the next request.

Hope that helps.

If your song does get "oversaturated" in the TV market, it means you've made a helluva lot of money. Saturation is what we all dream of!
