My last Submissions. What do you think?

Post by Horacemix » Mon Jul 09, 2018 5:46 pm

Hello Everybody! I hope you all are OK!

Today I've submitted 2 tracks.
I'd like to know what do you think about my songs and if you think they fit the listing request according to your experience.

Listing 1:

Song Submitted: https://soundcloud.com/horace-mix/dreaming-altmix
ORIGINAL, CONTEMPORARY BLUES SONGS with Male Vocals are needed for several $2,500, Direct-to-Music Supervisor, NON-Exclusive placements in a Video Game by a AAA Video Game Developer. The Supervisor is looking for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs in the general stylistic ballpark of artists/bands like (but not limited to) The White Stripes, Joe Bonamassa, Gary Clark Jr, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the following references we got directly from the Music Supervisor to get in the general stylistic wheelhouse of what they’re looking for:

“Don’t Owe You A Thing” by Gary Clark Jr.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0MEODXMMrU

“Death Letter” by The White Stripes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ba0IunweO5Q

“Get Back To My Tomorrow” by Joe Bonamassa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XPFPtcuRjQ

NOTE: This game has several radio and source music channels that are user selectable. Five or more original songs are needed for each channel/genre!!! No Covers -- Original songs only, please.

Please submit well-crafted Songs with great musicianship and a vocal that sounds like the real thing. Traditional Blues instrumentation as well as somewhat stripped-down arrangements could all work for this pitch. Acoustic and Electric Blues can both work. Your songs should have thumping drums, gritty, Blues-inspired guitar riffs, engaging melodies, and a powerful chorus. In a nut shell: They’re looking for Blues songs that sound like what you’d hear if you tuned into a Blues radio show or station. Authenticity and quality are needed. No demos.

Do NOT copy the referenced acts in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for tempo, tone, and vibe. Genre-Appropriate Broadcast Quality is needed.

The estimated license fee for each of these placements is $2,500. These are Direct-to-Music Supervisor placements, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Master and Composition rights, plus you’ll also get 100% of the sync fee.

NOTE: Video Games don’t pay performance royalties, but there are times when the songs used in the games are used in films, soundtracks, etc., and could generate performance royalties.

You must own or control your Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit as many Songs as you’d like online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by the Music Supervisor himself (time permitting), or a Screener selected by the Supervisor if his schedule gets too busy - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Monday, July 9th, 2018. TAXI #Y180709BS
Listing 2:
Song Submitted: https://soundcloud.com/horace-mix/bueno ... st-hip-hop
FUN, 1990’s to EARLY 2000’s-Style HIP-HOP INSTRUMENTALS are needed by TUESDAY (July 10th) for an (up to) $30,000, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement as the Opening Theme Music in a new TV Series on a huge Global Cable Network.

NOTE: We recently ran this request as (TAXI # Y180520FH), but they still haven’t found what they are looking for. They not only asked us to run another search, but they TRIPLED THE LICENSING FEE! If you submitted to TAXI # Y180520FH, please submit different material this time around!

They’re looking for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumentals that are in the general stylistic wheelhouse of the following references our client gave us:

The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air Theme Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nCqRmx3Dnw

“Finesse” by Bruno Mars: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRSaiAREnwI

“It Takes Two” by Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phOW-CZJWT0

Although the references have vocals, this request is for Instrumentals only. Please submit original, well-crafted Hip-Hop Instrumentals that authentically capture the Hip-Hop sound of that glorious ‘90’s era. Your Instrumentals should be melodically and rhythmically engaging, with a tone, feel, and vibe that would fit right in with the examples above. Your submissions can be actual old school Instrumentals recorded in the 1990’s or early 2000’s, or they can be Instrumentals recently recorded and just inspired by that era.

Your submissions should be at least 2 minutes long with a buttoned ending. Do NOT copy the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

The estimated license fee for this use is (up to) $30,000, depending on the ultimate placement. This is an EXCLUSIVE deal that would likely be with the publishing division of the company. They would likely get 100% of the publisher’s share, and you would get 100% of the writer’s share. The music you submit for this pitch CANNOT be signed with any other publishers or catalogs. Please submit as many Instrumentals as you’d like online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis – Short critiques only. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Tuesday, July 10th, 2018. TAXI #Y180710FH
Thank you in advance for your time reading and listening, and for leaving your comments and critiques!

Kind Regards from Buenos Aires!

Hello, and welcome to the forums.

I just wanted to let you know this type of question is usually posted in the Peer To Peer forum. You'll have a better chance of getting answers there.

The listings forum is normally for questions and comments about a listing, and not about submissions to a listing.
