I kinda like the song. The game here on peer-to-peer is to try to tell you how to improve the chances of it getting forwarded for something, and that's difficult here. It doesn't fit comfortably into any genre, contemporary or retro. I think if I was trying to pitch it, I might try to make it more country rock, but the vocal and guitar tones would have to change for that.

Maybe check out "Don't call me Stranger" by Chris Smither- that's what the lyric reminded me. It's my favorite "bad boy character" song.
