Howdy, TAXI peeps n peers...
A funny thing happened as the result of seeking out a vocalist for a new funsongs production: the words "novelty song" were again used to describe one of my projects.
I hadn't given that a lot of thought as it relates to my TAXI membership - but, those were exactly the same words Robin Frederick used when one of my songs got a listen and critique when she was Michael's guest on an episode of TAXI TV a few years back. Actually that happened twice, with Robin - regarding 2 different songs.
So - it dawned on me to ask more specifically - who might be at the Road Rally with whom I should/could speak about the future of novelty funsongs.
Anyone with good knowledge and info, I'd be grateful for some clues & suggestions.
Cheers.

Hey Peter
Ever since the song " The Monster Mash " and " Purple People Eater " came out, I have loved hearing a good novelty song. I think you should ask Micheal to have Wierd Al attend the rally. And if he attends, maybe you could ask Al why he spells his name incorrectly..it should be Wierd Al not Weird Al. Remember I before E except after C. But then he would have to change all his music covers...Oh noooooooooooooooooooo!
Sorry, that's all the help I can give you, grammar class in over

Good ideas. I was thinking along the lines of songs with a humorous bent - while the music was 'serious' - guys like Roger Miller, Ray Stevens, Randy Newman, Jimmy Buffett... to name a few.songmaster wrote:Hey Peter

I'm sure there are more folks who write tongue-in-cheek, lighthearted-tunes that put a smile on your face and a chuckle in your laughter.
Weird, aint it?
