percussion listing

Does this work? PERCUSSION-BASED INSTRUMENTALS are needed by an excellent Film/TV Music Library that has a TON of awesome placements in a bunch of high-end Films, TV Shows, and Commercials. They’re looking for rhythmic, Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumentals that could fit in the general stylistic wheelhouse of the references below:

Quicksilver TV Commercial (:09 - :30): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70y-TIubx7o

“Trailer: Stomp” (:12 - :34) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6Q0rZl0qiY

Although some of the references have vocal chants and other EFX/instrumentation, this request is for Percussion only!

Please submit driving, impactful, Percussive Instrumentals that can include Stomps, Claps, Slaps, Snaps, Bings, Taps, and Bangs. Stylistically, this request could go in several directions, including March/Drumline, Hip-Hop Break Beats, Ethnic, and just about any other style of beat that lends itself well to the “Stomp/Percussive” genre. For this pitch, simpler may be better!

TAXI TIP: Having a “human groove” will probably fare better than sending them obviously quantized, robotic, and stiff feeling tracks.

Feel free to get creative with your sounds for this request! Sounds that come from drums, trashcans, five-gallon paint containers, sticks on sheets of plywood, foot stomps on wood floors, etc. Almost anything could potentially work, as long as it’s super-percussive!

TAXI Tip 2: It’s our observation that the Instrumentals like this that get used the most are relatively simple. We think it’s all about the impact, and not how complex the rhythms are. If you think about it, if the rhythm is so complex that it gets your attention, then it’s likely steering you away from what you (the viewers) are supposed to be watching ;-)

Your submissions should be 2 to 3 minutes in length, give or take. Non-faded, Buttoned/Stinger endings should work best for this pitch, but that’s not an absolute requirement. Do not copy the referenced examples in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, and tone. Please avoid any material with unauthorized samples of other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

This company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal, so please be sure the songs you pitch for this opportunity are NOT already signed with any other Companies or Catalogs. Any sync fees will be split 50/50 with the Company. You'll get 100% of the Writer's share, and the Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher's share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit. Please submit as many Instrumentals as you'd like online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Sunday, September 16th, 2018. Hey Ronnie,

In my opinion...your track does not have the drive and sense of excitement that the examples have.

Your track has a similar vibe as the Quicksilver track....But lacks the driving anticipation that it has.

A/B between yours and the Quicksilver and your should instantly feel the difference.
You need to keep building the anticipation and excitement in your track.

Just my 2 cents,
Tim
