PRO registration question

Post by russellnollen » Sun Oct 14, 2018 8:25 am

As an artist, I've registered my songs with ASCAP as a sonwriter and as a publisher. Do you register your cues or submitted songs with your PRO? As a songwriter?
Thanks for your help in advance!

Hey Russell,

This question has a few answers.

For tracks that are direct to supervisor of a TV show ....you must submit them with your PRO.
For most libraries .......they will register your tracks with your PRO for you.... some will keep the original name....some will rename the track.

I also know of 1 Taxi friendly library that checks first to see if you have registered the tracks with your PRO...if you have not... they will let you know
and you can register them then.

+ 1 What Tim said.

But even with direct to sup. I wouldn't register just because you got forwarded through a Taxi listing. I would only register if it looked like the track was under serious consideration.

As far as libraries, only register it the library asks you to. Many of us know of one Taxi friendly LA library that requires registration under original title.
