First attempt at dramedy!
I thought I'd have a crack at #Y181025IC - I've not written any dramedy pieces before. The brief asks for cues that could work for silly, funny, or sneaky scenes in Reality TV Shows.
Am I on the right track?

If the download link doesn't work for you, the track "Speaking of Sneaking" can be found on my Taxi page https://www.taximusic.com/hosting/home.php?userid=87608
Kind Regards,

Re: First attempt at dramedy!
I can get to it...but only if I open it in a private tab.....maybe it's just me...
Anyway....I would start it at :18 or at :43 and then go from there...
then I would put what you have for the beginning...somewhere in the middle!
Or maybe keep it like it is ...and start without drums.....
Also make it around 1:30 and maybe make a 2 minute version...... many libraries want it about 1:30.... some 2 minutes ....even if they use 5 seconds worth.
My 2 cents worth!

Thanks Tim. I'll have a play with the arrangement try and extend it a little. I assume the style is on target?ttully wrote:I can get to it...but only if I open it in a private tab.....maybe it's just me...

Re: First attempt at dramedy!
Yea...it is a bit different than 'classic' dramedy.....but that may be good!
Maybe some others will have an opinion......

On the right track!
But instead of the midi bass use a Bassoon, a bass clarinet or a Baritone saxophone to make it more kind of ''comical''
More busy marimba lines (upper and lower) get crazy man!
And some steady rhythmical percs... (shakers, tambourines...)
My 2 cents
Keep on the work.

Re: First attempt at dramedy!
I think this has potential, but needs a better arrangement and mix. Seems like the trombones and piano stick out too much (needs overall compression), and when the drums stop the tune kind of loses momentum. Also, I'm not crazy about some of the samples like the dry snare and the "seinfeld" popping bass. But I think the tune works as Dramedy, so maybe try a remix with different voices and keep the drums going. Maybe or when they stop, get some high hat rythmns keeping the momentum going?

Re: First attempt at dramedy!
Thanks for the comments and feedback guys. I've reworked the arrangement and added a few extra rhythmical elements. The deadline is approaching on this one and want to put it to bed. Only so much dramedy I can take! lol
