Henry Winckel on Taxi TV

Post by MBantle » Tue Nov 27, 2018 12:38 pm

Really great show! I enjoyed it very much and there were a lot of very useful tipps.

Every Taxi member comes from a different background (dayjob Y/N etc.) but I am really impressed by the sheer number of tracks Henry submits per year. If I remember correctly there were years where he submitted 2 tracks a week. Is that all newly composed stuff? Apologies for my curiosity but I am composing from scratch for each listing and if it is a vocal production I need 10 days minimum to get it done (from writing the lyrics to booking studio musicians etc.). Anyway, really impressive and best of luck to Henry!

Cheers,
Matt

Hi Matt,

I'll chime in her and mention that since Henry has been doing this for a while, he has a good sized catalog of tracks.. and because of that, he can write new tracks, resubmit old ones, or modify older tracks for the listing, Obviously, the last 2 options save you a bunch of time, and allow lots of submissions- I also am sure that some of those 2X week submissions include collaborations with others.. this is a nice roadmap for members that are not at his level to move forward.

Bottom line, it take time, output , and eventually specialization in a certain genre(S) to keep your output productive,no matter what your schedule.

Henry is a wonderful musician, we have collaborated a few times. I believe he is retired and doing music as often as he wants. That is my DREAM situation. :) But, the more you do something, the better you get at it, and this also means the faster you get at doing it. Just keep plugging away, try to work smarter instead of harder, and you will be cranking out the music faster than ever before you know it!
