Who is Mar Tin?

Post by RobertElse » Wed Dec 05, 2018 5:31 pm

I'm amazed at the voluminous, varied, and high-quality output of the mysterious "Mar Tin" of YouTube, who is the creator of so many of the reference tracks for TAXI instrumental listings (for example, https://youtu.be/OQBUJkWP0Pg for the Stomps and Claps listing Y181210ST due Dec 10).

Anybody want to come out from behind the curtain, or know who's behind it?

Robert

I was wondering the same thing. He / She is a master of that craft. Seriously all those tracks are certified bangers.

Sorry, but am I missing something obvious here?

Taking a guess here, maybe you are asking about this gentleman - featured on-air guest for a recent episode of TAXI TV.
Martin Tichy.

Could be, but I don't think so. I met Martin Tichy at the most recent Rally, and attended both his sessions on "Sample-Based Orchestral Arrangements." Seems to me they have very different styles. Wish I'd gotten his card so I could email him and ask! You could be right... the mystery continues...
Thanks,
Robert

I wondered the same thing. If this artist is being referenced many times, then why not contact them and use their material?

I can't find any identifying or contact info on YouTube. Maybe a TAXI member, maybe not. Maybe doesn't want to be known. Excellent tracks.

OK, duh, I figured it out: in YouTube, under Music In This Video, click on "Show More" and all will be revealed. It's existing library music from a variety of places. I kinda feel better knowing it's not just one super-productive music monster cranking out these great tracks, but the work of many talents. Still, I wonder where the name Mar Tin came from?
