Very, very good advice Cassmcentee!!!!!

I use Acronis True Image and have multiple backups of EVERYTHING!!!!
Especially your 'C' drive....cause it may take weeks to get your system up and running if your OS drive fails...
But of course....you NEED to have IMAGE copies of all your hard drives.....that way a crash is almost a non event.....

Don't forget to have iLok zero downtime also......

CCC and Time Machine have saved my bacon! Mac user :)

I use TM sparingly so it doesn't chew up disc space.

Never try to delete TM backups using finder, doh! Some internet posts have recommended this and the result is many not so happy days deleting single files from the recycle bin because the file names are too long to empty the bin. If you have done this the fix is put them back where they came from [from memory I think they can be taken back out of the recycle bin?!] and erase the TM partition and start new TM backups. You wont have old TM backups but if you are happy with your system you can free up space for a new run of TM back ups.

If you have old ssd drives gathering dust they can be used for backups using a cheap usb to sata adapter. You can get them for under $10.

Tim... If you have a second, can you explain "zero downtime"?

This is becoming very informative!
Thanks Tim & Les!

Here is from the iLok site....

Unusable iLok? Zero Downtime™ to the rescue!

Zero Downtime™ (ZDT) is an optional iLok coverage that gives you immediate access to your licenses in the case of a broken, lost, or stolen iLok. If you rely on 24/7 access to your licenses, ZDT is for you!

[14 Day Temporary Licenses] When an RMA order is placed for an iLok with ZDT coverage, temporary licenses for those licenses last seen on the iLok are immediately deposited to your iLok account. Just activate the temporary licenses to a spare iLok and keep using your software.

[Replacement iLok] For true Zero Downtime, be sure to keep a spare iLok handy. If you don't have access to another iLok and can wait a day or two to resume using your licenses, you can wait for the replacement iLok included in your RMA order to arrive. It is cross-shipped to you and leaves our warehouse at the earliest opportunity - we don't wait for your broken iLok to arrive.

It is $30.00 per year

Hope that helps,
Tim
