Be helpful to know your Daw, where you are storing the samples and whether other VSTs work ok.

Page 22 of this will give you the file structure,
http://www.soundsonline-forums.com/docs/EW-FAQ.pdf
Once you have that sorted use the installation centre to locate the directory outlined on page 21.
If this doesn't exactly solve your problem it will probably be the right area to look in.

Re: East west sound issues
thank you kindly for your replies
gone for the holidays twas I
I am using Logic
and you are right in that I have stuff on different drives
and
the trouble I am having is that some of my files contain instruments other than that stated on the title.
If you have any experience with that, let me know, other wise I will be uninstalling and reinstalling at a new location
hoping that that works
again, thanks for getting back to me
have a great holiday all

Hey Carl,
This won't help your situation... but something similar happened to me.
I had a track that a music library wanted some changes made to.
I pulled it up in protools and most of the EW tracks were playing different sounds.
I never did get the track back to the way it was originally because I couldn't find the original sounds!
I guess that's why it is always best to convert your midi tracks to audio tracks.
Although I still rarely do that!

Re: East west sound issues
Hi Tim
and thanks for you response
your experience is precisely what started me on this saga
I kept hearing its best to render ones midi tracks should EW or some other library change sounds. I have a half dozen toons I felt I should render.
I had no problems with the first five but when I went back to render the last song,
I could not find the files much less render them. and the EW mixer would not load any sounds at all if even just one sample is missing,
thus I was minus 8 instruments, not just the one that was lost. Hence my freak out message here.
I did follow the advise of those nice folk who responded, ( thank you tim, hummingbird and lesmac) and was able to find the file, on another drive.
once loaded, it all seems to be what I was using. I am now rendering the last of the needed tunes.
so all is well as I start the new year...thanks......
and happy new year

Re: East west sound issues
the issue seems to be more about moving the sound files and either not moving them completely or changing the location in the software that uses the sounds.
