I am producing some circus calliope music for listing # Y181212CA. I modeled a calliope with Logic Pro Sculpture. If anyone wants to give a listen and feedback on the sound, here's a track I recorded with it: https://soundcloud.com/stansongman/stro ... ay/s-zVOpg. I think it's close, but I've spent too much time on it to be objective. One thing I noticed from listening to a bunch of calliope music on YouTube, is that the wind sound on a calliope doesn't seem to change "pitch" , but this model does somewhat. I don't see a way to do that with Sculpture, but what I like about the model is that it has a wonkiness that to me sounds pretty realistic for an old steam machine. Anyways, feel free to use the plugin, and any feedback would be appreciated!

BTW I didn't really know where to post this, but I like to share new patches/etc. with the TAXI community for their use. I am really enjoying producing for this listing, how can you not be happy when you're playing circus music on a calliope? :D

Cool track. Very fun and circusy sounding :) Thanks for the link to that patch. I will play with it. I don't think I've ever tried to model anything in Logic Pro X. Always appreciate when you add links or details regarding stuff. Cheers and good luck.

So, after some fooling around, the easiest solution is to create another track with the ES2 plugin, which provides the steam. Here's the plugin setting for it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6i4tr4zo3vw6d ... m.pst?dl=0 . If you mix a little in alongside the calliope track (you have to duplicate the midi to the ES2 track as well), I think it's much closer. Hey Stan, I was able to open the Callope.pst file in Sculpture. However, I'm not able to open the steam.pst because it's greyed out in the folder when trying to load it. Should the filesize only be 1 KB?

Here's what it looks like when I try to Load from Sculpture. Appreciate any help. Thanks!

Dang that's really cool; sounds authentic ti these ears. I did however, notice some distortion on the last chord. Perhaps it's an artifact of compression, either audio or data? Likely not a dealbreaker, in context, just noticeable.

Nice job! I think that's a better calliope then I came up with . I blended the ocarina and japanese flute sounds on my keyboard, and then detuned it slightly with a plugin in Reaper and came out with something close. But yours has more "steam". You nailed the ragtimey style of calliope tunes too. As a keyboard player, you've gotta love when they ask for something like that!

This one's missing the whistle-ey pitched and non-pitched artifacts (squeaks, compressor noise) of a complex piece of machinery, and could also use a touch more space around it.
