Ringing in the New Year with a new library deal

Post by VanderBoegh » Thu Jan 03, 2019 12:53 pm

Looks like 2019 is already off to a great start out here in Boise Idaho. Not only have the roads been clear of snow and temperatures have been in the upper 30's instead of the teens, but I just got offered a deal on a track I wrote for this recent dispatch listing.

ARPEGGIATED ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a hot European Music Library that’s expanding their reach and catalog size. They’re looking for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumental Cues in the general stylistic ballpark of these references:

NOTE: The “science-y” synth vibe is something they’re clearly interested in finding, but you don’t have to limit yourself to just that style!

Please submit well-crafted Electronic Instrumental Cues that are arpeggiation-driven and could cover a range of moods from Tense and Anticipatory to Haunting and Sinister. You can also submit hybrids that mix electronic and organic/acoustic instruments, as long as an arpeggiated element is most prevalent in your Cues. Build your Cues around a simple, central melody that will sit easily behind a scene’s dialogue, while adding new elements as it progresses to create a sense of forward movement and development.

TAXI TIP: Even though this request is pretty open, you’d be wise to avoid submitting anything that’s light, fun, or comedic. They're hunting for the heavier, darker stuff here.

I submitted this track on December 21, got notice of the forward on December 27, and just got an email from the publisher today (January 3). That's on the speedier end of the spectrum. Gotta love Dispatch!

Oh yeah, here's my track "Terraforma":

Happy New Year, everyone!!

~~Matt

Congratulations Matt.
Nice track as always, I like the atmosphere / slightly mysterious feel to it.
All the best for the new year.
PS: as for the snow, you should really take a trip to Norway sometime in the winter, it would give you a perspective.... and a sour back from shuffling all the freaking snow :D

Right on, congrats man!! Feel free to take some of our snow from South Dakota!! It's been kinda brutal. Well, the last few days have been in the 30's and abnormally nice, but prior to that - lots of snow and crazy wind. Temps down to like -30 with the windchill. Super fun working outside in that weather ;) All the more reason to make this a full-time income though.

Glad to hear you're already off to a great start for the year!!

Congrats, Matt! Cool cue!
And as we're having a snow competition, I woke up yesterday here in the Alps with nearly a meter of snow on my driveway.
I had to carve out a route through it so we could drive out.
Better to stay at home and make music when it's like that!
