Mix and Structure Thoughts

Post by pianodanno » Fri Jan 04, 2019 3:58 pm

Happy Friday, Passengers!

I've created Tension & Action cues. I would love some feedback on the mix and the overall structure.

Tension & Action Cues

Hope y'all enjoy!

Definitely on target for Tension but I'm not so sure about Action.

Also..
I would make the overall mix louder to keep up with the modern tracks we regularly hear in this genre.
I think the writing is quite impressive though.. Good job on that!!

Dan

P.S. I also listened to the second one in this playlist and I think it is more geared toward both Tension and Action than the first.
However, I still think the overall loudness needs to come up in both.

Go your own way! Out of necessity, drive, gumption, whatever.. don't let anyone tell you you can't!
It's not what goes into your music that's important, it's what comes out the speakers

Hey Danno,

Nice work....
I agree with Danny Weber..... it's too quiet!
Also just like he says....it's not action.....

You usually do not want to combine 2 emotions into 1 track.

And 1 last but crucial thing...... give it a good title!

Danny! Thank you for the feedback.
I absolutely agree with you on the loudness. I can hear an old mentor right now applauding my low mixing, but in the future I will be boosting the sound for feedback.

Cheers, dude & keep rockin!

Tim, Thanks for the input! I will go louder for the next run :)

Great advice about not combining emotions, I strive and will continue to aim for one.
As for titling, Tension and Action was just the name of the soundcloud playlist. Do you think "20 Steps Ahead" for the Tension track and "Labyrinth Challenges" for the Action track were poor choices. If so, do you have any titling tips?

Thanks again!

Hi Danni,

29 Steps Ahead is fine!

I'm not sure about the other one..... but if it conveys the FEELING of the track... it's good!
