this might be a little overboard,

Handclaps

Hit - 8 Velocities - 5 Round Robins - Kick, Kit and 4 room mics - 240 Samples you can mix the 6 mics as you like or use any combination from 1 to 6 of the mics.

https://www.drumdrops.com/drum-samples/ ... mples-pack

You could also use tools that work on the attack and sustain, or transient, to give a different effect or tweak your samples eg: https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/prod ... _plus.html
https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/prod ... _plus.html, https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/prod ... elope.html

https://www.drumdrops.com/recording/60s ... ops?page=2 cheaper alternative, find a track you like and slice and edit claps yourself, a stereo mix and round robins included.

Big +1 on Battery!

To clarify the beginning of my original post - I wasn't trying to dissuade you from using VI's, I just don't have much experience with them for snaps & claps.

Battery is great though for many reasons. One thing that I really like about it, and what I mostly use it for now, is creating my own kits of my favorite samples. I've got at least half a dozen of them made if not more. Each one is mostly just one thing (kicks, snares, cymbals, snaps n claps, etc etc). That way there is no endless digging and searching, I just go thru my kits that I made. Also you can have all your kicks and snares organized by pitch this way which can be super handy.

Big congrats on the upcoming commercial placement, Tim!! That's awesome!

Checking out your stuff, Tim, it sounds great!! Congrats on all your successes! I might recommend fixing the link in your signature though :) instead of "http" have it be "https" otherwise it just redirects to the main taxi home page.

This came up in one of those super secret handshake discussion groups on the facebook, recently; (if I told you, I'd have to kill you) but apparently this is exactly the expensive-sounding free thing you're looking for: https://redroomaudio.com/product/snaps- ... 5plHnax1xA

Check out the demo: https://soundcloud.com/red-room-audio/d ... tian-yoder

Please note that it requires the full retail version of Kontakt, but you are gonna buy that anyway, if you didn't already.

Hi Matt - There are some claps and snaps in EZDrummer, which I just purchased for a different reason so I haven't really had a chance to check them out thoroughly. Just another data point in case it is useful.

Thanks! I own EZDrummer and Kontakt (Komplete) and I did not have chance to testdrive Mojo's NI instrument. At the moment I am using samples from Loopcloud that sound very organic. I really recommend Loopcloud because it syncs with the tempo and key of your project and allows for auditioning stuff quickly.
