I Disagree With Listener #226, re: Y190106UP

First the critique:
"This track could work if it was re-arranged. To work better for this instrumental only listing, the song could build more at the start, go through more dynamic changes, feature less repetition (for example no double second chorus) and could also have a shorter/tighter arrangement."

The song is: "Glad To Get Away", no vox.

Fox picked up the vocal version.

My opinion; (as someone who has a track record of getting placements.) : The idea of having 'dynamic changes, featuring less repetition' flies in the face of underscores and cues. This song was cut up and rearranged already to be more seamless, as cues normally go.

Conclusion: It has seemed that reviewers for Taxi go through phases. A couple of years ago, we had reviewers that wanted to restructure everything like a beginners class of songwriting. That went away for awhile. seems like it's back.
Music is selective; and if I get 9 people to listen to something, they probably will not agree on everything about what they heard. Taxi is one avenue, Thank God!

Hi Singer1,

It depends on what the listing said....
If they were looking for cues.... a song w/o vox will rarely work.....

Or were they looking for a song type structure?
