What Genre?
What genre is this? Also.. does it sound modern?
Thanks for listening!
Dan
Loving and kissing and squeezing and hugging and licking you on the neck
First thing ya know you go running around and ya stab me in the back
My friends say your wicked but I never listen to anyone talkin’ smack
My family and friends say we’re out of our minds, I told you
Woman, did you ever lose?
Woman, I can’t take the abuse
Woman, making me sing the blues
Woman, don’t ya make me choose
I tell ya how much I love you in text messages I never send
I heard your running around, sleeping with my best friends
Cheating on me is not a matter of why it’s a question of when
Everyone thinks that we’re out of our minds, I told ya
Woman, did you ever lose?
Woman, I can’t take the abuse
Woman, making me sing the blues
Woman, don’t ya make me choose

Go your own way! Out of necessity, drive, gumption, whatever.. don't let anyone tell you you can't!
It's not what goes into your music that's important, it's what comes out the speakers

Re: What Genre?
The guitars and arrangement (really cool!) sound like rock to me too, but the vocoderized voice sounds unexpected in that genre IMO... So maybe a genre mix?
I'm not very good at telling what sounds contemporary, so I won't say anything about that.
Best,
Maya

Re: What Genre?
Another cool track Dan!
Yep I'm with the others, sounds like rock to me, maybe with the stylized vocals you could call it pop rock.
But not the candy (pop rocks), the genre (Pop Rock!).
