Forwards not signed
Hi all,
Question for you :
Is it wise to, recommeded, or is it common practice, to submit a song that was forwarded but not signed.
So far 13 forwards but only one publishing contract.
Getting impatient...
Having issues with the ''Forget'' part
Of Write, Submit, Forget, Repeat.
I have sent 60 songs since May '18
So no issues with the other parts
Any comment appreciated.

Hi
Always keep submitting unless a song is actually signed. A forward is just a forward, a "favorable introduction", not a deal.
Good luck!

Re: Forwards not signed
A deal after just 13 forwards.. most of us would love that track record. Keep at it, the deals and placements will come.
I agree with Casey.. keep submitting tracks that were forwarded but not signed.
Your always building your personal catalog until a publisher signs your music and wants to build their own with your music! Until then you have to try to Forget about forwards. Forwards are just a sign of your potential in this business! I know it's hard but have you ever heard the music business was easy?
Be patient and have faith! It's the only way to get through!

Go your own way! Out of necessity, drive, gumption, whatever.. don't let anyone tell you you can't!
It's not what goes into your music that's important, it's what comes out the speakers

Many thanks Dan, but would you not agree that the ''forget'' part is the hardest part?DannyWeber wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 6:11 pmA deal after just 13 forwards.. most of us would love that track record. Keep at it, the deals and placements will come.

Hey Pierre,
To put things in perspective.. In 2017 and the beginning of 2018, I wrote almost 500 tracks (including alt versions).. all for several Libraries.
I don't expect to see any money from them for quite a while because, it may take awhile for clients just to choose your tracks and then when the clients get around to filling out the cue sheets.. it may take a year or two, just to receive royalties. Everything takes a long time in this business. You have to get used to the idea.
Sorry but that's just what I've learned here on these Forums and by doing my own research elsewhere. TAXI TV, is a Great resource for information as well !
Knowledge can help you get through, Pierre!
Hang in there my friend! It will take hard work and patience for us to succeed!
